Description générale d’Immersion Baie-des-Chaleurs

Immersion Baie-des-Chaleurs est un programme d'immersion en langue française offert en Gaspésie dans la Baie-des-Chaleurs. Les participants, âgés de 18 ans et plus, demeurent dans des familles d'accueil pendant une à dix semaines et participent à des activités, structurées ou non, afin de parler le français couramment. Les étudiants sont au nombre de six pour un enseignant et Immersion Baie-des-Chaleurs accepte une moyenne de sept groupes. A chaque session, nous accueillons donc 42 personnes au maximum. Notre but est d’offrir un programme de haut calibre très bien géré, à l’intérieur duquel les étudiants recevront tout l’aide pédagogique requis. Notre approche leur assurera un meilleur apprentissage s’ils se retrouvaient dans des écoles d’immersion regroupant un plus grand groupe d'étudiants.

L’objectif d’Immersion Baie-des-Chaleurs est de rendre les étudiants aptes à utiliser avec aisance le français comme langue seconde en employant les termes précis leur permettant de communiquer efficacement, en apprenant les techniques dont ils auront besoin pour faire face à toutes sortes de situations.

The activities are a very important part of our program. This is where students get out and use the French that they have been studying in the very controlled classroom setting. This is the natural environment where a frown will let you know that the person is not following your conversation and you need to rephrase what you just said. It is also where we want you to enjoy the language through songs, theatre, conferences and concerts. It is where we want you to enjoy the culture and get to know the people in our community. You will find the Gaspesians very kind, patient and helpful. Perhaps the sea air and small populations are very conducive to creating friendships. The owner of this language school struggled tremendously to learn French and created a program that helped her. We hope that Immersion Baie-des-Chaleurs will allow all students to immerse themselves in the warmth of this community and leave with good memories and increased competency in French.
